Awards season is finally back to its former glory, with celebrities dressing up to the nines to celebrate the finest talent in music, film and music – and the BAFTAs 2022 red carpet at London’s Royal Albert Hall did not disappoint.
Last year, the BAFTAs introduced a sustainable dress code, and while this year was no different, guests were also allegedly asked to consider wearing more sombre outfits, out of respect for Ukrainian people.
A-listers such as Lady Gaga, Rebel Wilson, Daisy Ridley, Naomi Campbell and Emma Watson seemingly followed the brief to the letter with sweeping black gowns.
Celebrities like Millie Mackintosh showed their support in different ways, by wearing ribbons in the colours of the Ukrainian flag.
Others like Salma Hayek and Florence Pugh oped for discreet pops of colour, with Salma in a deep purple velvet gown and Florence in a black mini dress adorned with a pink bow at the back.
That said, there were plenty of pops of colour as well. Rebecca Hall wore a pale blue Dior dress, Simone Ashley a neon pink Valentino dress, Ariana DeBose in bright yellow and Daisy Ridley an ice blue sequin gown by Gucci.
