Happy Wednesday! I hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day Weekend and beautiful weather to bring in the first day of Summer. My parents were in town so we hung out with them and spent some time relaxing by the pool.
Whenever we’re hosting I always like to plan our menu in advance and try to incorporate dishes that are delicious yet simple so too much time isn’t spent away from all the fun. My mom helped me make this berries and cream trifle that would make the perfect dessert for July 4th. It’s quick and simple and honestly slicing the strawberries took the longest amount of time. The recipe calls for 8-10 cups of angel food cake, but I made note that I would double up and use twice the amount next time. (You could also use store bought cake if you’re short on time, that is what I did, so next time would buy two angel food cakes to use.)
If you’re looking for other simple recipes to make for the upcoming holiday be sure to checkout my recent ‘Easy Summer Recipes’ blog post. It includes some of my favorite meals on the grill and a refreshing watermelon slushy. If you have any go-to summer recipes be sure to leave them in the comments and shout with any questions you might have.
