There are so many incredible beauty products and not enough hours in the day. Every week, nay every day, sees the launch of new makeup, skincare, haircare and tools.
However, it’s tricky to know whether you believe the hype in some cases. Nobody likes to splash their hard-earned cash on something they’ll never use and later regret buying.
This is where I come in. I am lucky enough to see products ahead of them hitting the shops. From the best mascara and best eye cream, to the best moisturiser for dry skin and best purple shampoo, I try and test it all to see what all the fuss is about.
Each month I bring you a breakdown of the best new releases you should be fighting to get your hands on before they sell out (which trust us, does happen.) I want you to know all about the best in beauty, so that you can make good, informed choices.
Best in beauty:
1. Hourglass Ambient Soft Glow Foundation

Hourglass’s iconic Ambient Soft Gloss range gives you that ultimate lit-from-within look. And now they’ve bottled it in liquid form with this foundation that I think deserves a spot in any best foundation roundup. It has just the right amount of coverage, comes in a brilliant 32 shades and really truly does give you the best glow.
2. R.E.M Beauty Sweetener Concealer
R.E.M Beauty Sweetener Concealer, £21 | Selfridges
This is not a new product from Ariana Grande’s beauty brand, however, the fact that you can now go into a bricks-and-mortar store to test it out is new. The Selfridges beauty hall plays host to the celebrity make-up brand making waves globally. Celebrate MUA Katie-Jane Hughes uses this concealer as her primary base product, ‘nobody really needs to cover up their entire face.’
3. Revolution Skincare x Sali Hughes Headband

Sali Hughes’s collaboration with Revolution Skincare has proven since its launch in April that it provides affordable, hardworking skincare to the masses. And whilst this isn’t technically a skincare product, it’s actually just a really brilliant headband to use whilst applying your lotions and potions.
3. Ultra Violette Daydream Screen SPF50 Tinted Veil

Everyone’s favourite facial sunscreen now comes in a tinted version and I am here for it. I prefer a lighter weight base and to me, this brings together two steps perfectly.
4. Olaplex No. 4C Clarifying Shampoo

If you’re not sure what a clarifying shampoo does, it removes product build-up, dirt and impurities from the hair that cause the hair to look dull and lifeless. It’s been introduced as a new step within the Olaplex system because that grime also prevents the rest of your Olaplex routine from doing its hard work. And nobody wants that.
5. Byredo Lip Balms

Yes, I know £40 is a pretty penny to spend on a lip balm, but sue me I love a bougie lip balm. These three from Byredo come in the most glorious flavours and scents. The blue one is chamomile, the green one is minty tea and the pink one is lime and bergamot.
6. Nessa Organics Body Saviour

I am almost eight months pregnant and have been bathing in this stuff. It has so far prevented me from getting any stretch marks. An excellent product for mums-to-be, but quite frankly I plan to use this after the baby pops out too.
7. Face Gym Hydrating Active Roller

Skin tools are my latest obsession. Maybe it’s an age thing? As I well and truly enter my mid-thirties I am keen to give it all a try to help my skin feel and look more bouncy and bright. I’ve been using this at-home micro-needling tool for a couple of weeks and I am loving the results. It has dissolvable microneedles containing crystallised Hyaluronic Acid, Tri-active Peptides + Centella Asiatica, which together give me a much-needed hydration boost.
8. Aveeno Kids Bubble Bath & Wash for Sensitive Skin

There is no one that I trust more with my son’s sensitive skin than Aveeno. Its oat ranges are perfect for his eczema that flares up from time to time. Its newest Bubble Bath & Wash means that for the first time since he was born, my son has had a bubble bath, as all other foaming products would wreak havoc.
9. CeraVe Hydrating Cleansing Bar

My go-to cleanser is now in bar form and I couldn’t be happier. It can be used all over the body – so if you’re that way inclined keep it close to your shower. However, I like to use it every day on my face, so keep it in a smart new soap dish that now sits on my sink. Any excuse to buy a new interior accessory.
10. Jo Malone London x Rodin Olio Lusso Skincare

What a collaboration. If you’re not familiar with the cult face oil Rodin Olio Lusso, which sadly stopped selling last year, here’s your chance to get your hands on it. Beautifully scented with Jasmine & Neroli (created oh so perfectly by the noses at JML) this stunning face oil will lift the sorriest of complexions. In my opinion, it’s the perfect oil texture – not too heavy, not too light – and a little goes a long way. It’s limited edition, so make your move now.
11. Kenzo Flower L’Absolue EDP
Kenzo Flower L’Absolue EDP, £75 | Boots
Kenzo’s Flower perfume is one of my mother’s favourite scents. It is not one of mine. This, however, is much more me. It’s a bit more punchy than the original, which I prefer. I like my fragrance to enter a room before I do.
